Our work on the complex land sale that will create Broadnook Garden Village in North Leicestershire has been announced as a finalist in the forthcoming East Midlands Bricks Awards.
Organised by leading regional magazine, East Midlands Business Link, the Bricks Awards are held annually and seek to highlight the outstanding work of those behind the changing landscape of the Midlands. Our work completing the sale of circa 460 acres of land to Davidsons Homes and Barwood Homes has been shortlisted in the Deal of the Year category.
Trevor Wells, Director said: “This momentous land deal, which we concluded in partnership with Newton LDP and APB, was for Wells McFarlane over a decade in the making as we have been involved from the very beginning. It required extensive collaboration and local knowledge to navigate numerous complexities. The sale completed in July this year paving the way for a whole new community of homes, businesses, a primary school, leisure facilities and natural open space. It’s very welcome news that our years of hard work have been recognised as one of the Midlands most significant deals and we look forward to finding out the winner later this month.”
Included in Charnwood Borough Council’s local plan, the Broadnook Garden Village development will comprise 1,950 homes (including 319 affordable), 15 hectares of employment land, a local centre with supermarket and community facilities, a primary school, assisted living retirement village comprising 175 homes and a 70-bed care home, sports facilities, natural open spaces, play areas, allotments, cycle routes and footpaths.
The East Midlands Bricks Awards will be presented at a ceremony at Trent Bridge Cricket Ground on Thursday 15 September. To see all the finalists, visit https://www.eastmidlandsbusinesslink.co.uk/mag/news/shortlist-revealed-for-the-east-midlands-bricks-awards-2022/
