A bridal boutique that opened just six weeks before the pandemic hit has been so successful that it is already expanding.
Maisie Darling Bridal Boutique, based on Lutterworth’s High Street, has taken additional floors within the building at number 33, in a deal negotiated by our Director, Andrew McFarlane Holt. Owner, Charlotte Anderson-Dilkes explains: “I opened the boutique in January 2020 to offer brides a personal and bespoke service when choosing their wedding dress. Despite the challenges of trading during a pandemic, the boutique has grown organically, and my online shop is also very busy, so I quickly realised a need for more space.
“I knew the upstairs floors were available to let so my decision was whether to take it on or relocate. I’ve had such a warm welcome from the Lutterworth business community and the location is so accessible that I chose to stay. The additional floors mean I can create a private office space for myself but more importantly, I’ll be able to add a dedicated seamstress room for longer fitting appointments and allow for more browsing space for brides. There’s also potential to add a second fitting room and create a job opportunity, so it’s an exciting future!”
Andrew added: “Online retail has been one of the big beneficiaries of the pandemic and has positively impacted the commercial property market. Not only are business owners like Charlotte now able to expand by leasing additional retail premises but demand for light industrial units and warehouses is at an all time high as more storage/distribution hubs are sought in commutable locations.
