In a spectacular fundraising challenge, one of our longstanding contacts has covered 1,000 miles in a tuk-tuk.
To celebrate its 150th year in business, family-owned livestock and speciality feed manufacturer, GLW Feeds was aiming to raise £20,000 for three exceptional charities; The Air Ambulance, The Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution and St Dorcas Children’s Educational Centre. The showpiece of this fundraising was an epic tuk-tuk challenge, where directors, George White, Jamie McDonagh, Graham Palmer and Louis White travelled a 1,000 mile route around their trading area in just four days!
Our Directors, Trevor Wells and Andrew McFarlane Holt, and Assistant Land Agent, Tom Knowles supported the team on the final day of their adventure as they stopped for lunch at Boundary Farm in Sapcote, Leicestershire. Tom said: “It was a brilliant atmosphere as the tuk-tuk team neared the end of their journey, the mix of elation and relief was palpable! The four directors and four supporting team members have achieved an incredible feat for fantastic causes in our community.”
Further fundraising includes a silent promise auction, where lots include a tour around Old Trafford and an England Shirt signed by the 2023 Lionesses’ World Cup squad. Wells McFarlane has donated a mixed bottle case of New Zealand wine from Berry Bros & Rudd, and a professional advice session with Trevor Wells.
Amazingly, donations now exceed £25,000 so a new target of £30,000 has been set! Donate via https://www.gofundme.com/f/glw-150-years-fundraising-for-3-worthy-causes
