170 energy efficient new homes will be brought to the Leicestershire village of Countesthorpe after our land and planning team helped secure the sale of an 18.5 acre (7.5 hectare) site to Miller Homes.
Acting as the landowner’s agent, our director, Trevor Wells has worked in partnership with strategic land promoter, Catesby Estates to bring the site through planning and subsequently to market. An outline planning application was registered with Blaby District Council in January 2024, and went before planning committee in July, receiving a majority in favour resolution to grant.
Following this, the sale completed in October, representing just a ten-month turnaround from the submission of the application to a land sale.
Trevor comments: “This prime residential site, which is located adjacent to Foston Road and Leicester Road, has required considerable hard work plus the skill and commitment of the whole team to achieve this outcome in this timeframe. It is excellent news to have completed the deal and we can now look forward to the creation of these new homes for Leicestershire.”
The Countesthorpe site is in a sustainable location on the edge of the village, with excellent access to local services and facilities. It was sold with outline planning for 170 homes, including 25% affordable housing and public open space with play areas.
